The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP

Has anyone paired the AK100 MKI with the Vsonic GR07's?  The impedance of them is 50ohm, so technically it should work well with the 22ohm output, but I've read that there is a recommendation that headphones should really be at least >70ohm when used with the AK100.

Any good experiences out there with the GR07's to help justify this purchase to myself?

I use the ak100 stock with my gr07s, and haven't noticed any issues tbh, background is silent, and soundwise I haven't noticed any major issues. However take this with a grain of salt, since I've exclusively used my ak's for listening for the last year.

There's one for sale here.

And the USB is just a USB micro B cable.

Thanks for that!  Apparently the search function doesn't work very well over here.  When searching for 'AK100' in the For Sale forums, it did not return this posting.

They actually pair really well.

Remove the offending card. Insert into your computer and check that it shows all your files to verify it didn't die. Then re-insert into your AK. It should scan the database, if not force manual scanning via menu option. Card should show up now.

Thanks for suggestion, tried it and unfortunately it didn't work. All files read via the computer as well.  I am now copying the card to computer and then I'm going to try reformatting the card, see if that works.

Have you swapped your working card to the AK slot that doesn't read to see if it's the slot that's jacked, and visa versa?

OK, have reformatted the card, copied music files back onto the card and it's working again, at the moment.  When formatting I used guiformat but this time I clicked on the 65536 in the volume drop down menu.  Not sure what difference it makes...  Anyway for the purposes of anyone else experiencing this problem with a card I will update in a few days to confirm whether or not this is a long term solution.  Thanks again.

Does anyone else here experience random failures during playback and their player doing a rescan as if it thinks one of the cards was removed and reinserted? I'm using 2 x 32gb SanDisk cards, but haven't yet tested to see which card is the cause. I have emptied (not fully formatted) the cards and reloaded with no success and I can't tell if it happens on a certain track because the device goes straight to library scan.

Hey guys, don't mean to derail here, but I see the term ak100 mk2? If had mine since July 2013, so most likely it's mk1 but what's the difference between them?
Btw I'm pairing the Ak100 with my ASG. 2
