  Differences between 660 and 680???
In Italy I search the 660 model...

S660 is really bad, do not touch it.

Well..As much as I blasted them drivers. I can't get over how wonky the sound is on the HA-S660. I think it is actually worse than the HA-S600. Which is very surprising to me. I don't know who can design this and listen to it thinking it has a good sound quality.. Don't know if it was just me but I can swear the bass got stronger with an overnight burn in. It is too boosted for having smaller closed in cups.

I don't mind big bass but I do when that is what your hearing on even bass light tunes.. Lol. The mids are easily overtaken. What mids there are. The sound is just terrible. With the Panas coming my way I am gonna call this one a loss and see if I can get a RMA. It is too bad as they they actually are built and look nicer than the older HA-S600.

Sound wise. These come dangerously close to the worst JVC headphones I have ever owned. The HA-S700. As dark as the HA-S660 sounds. Going off of memory at least the HA-S660 has treble. The HA-S700 had none to speak of.. The darkest dankiest sound I have ever heard..

At least we mostly get good stuff here on the discovery thread. Mostly. Lol.

Does anyone have both S680 and Mikros 90 or Yamaha HPH-200?

I have the HPH-200, they are very thin sounding - sorry I bought them.
At first they sound exciting due to large soundstage, but it passes.

Okay, so no one seems to own both the S680 and Pro80, but by way of deduction I have grayson73 preferring HPH-200 more than his Pro80 (HSR-1000), and BenF preferring S680 over HPH-200.

So.. S680 is the answer then!

The shipping charge will be around 18$-19$
You can get it through Kakaku and BuySmartJapan cheaper - around 63$-64$ total.

I know it's just an estimate but do you know if that shipping charge a general/standard price I can go by or does it depend on the size/weight?  I'm just wondering if I bought iem's from these guys whether it would be cheaper or not (to ship from Japan to North America).

IEMs would be cheaper, it's by weight

Don't forget to burn it properly:

The burn-in procedure:
1) Use https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rnrj5g0mmbldj58/ZhYIByMYOE/White-Pink-Brown%20Noise%20%28For%20burn%20in%29.wav
2) Adjust the volume so that the middle noise is too loud for comfort
3) Take the headphones off, and add another 20-30% volume
4) Keep burning 24/7
5) Give it at least 48 hours
6) Once burn-in of the driver is done, please let your brain burn-in as well - it will take a few days for the brain to adjust to the sound. At first, the brain will refuse to process the soundstage and clarity that HA-S680 can produce, but it will give in eventually.

Thanks BenF!

I'm going to have to figure out how I'm going to get them first.  I was hoping to ship them to my dad who happens to be in the US right now for a couple weeks, but I'm trying to avoid paying so much for shipping.  I guess it's either expedite them on amazon, or use another service like kakaku or white rabbit to ship here to Canada.

Did we ever get a full comparison between the 680's and the 500's? I skimmed through the thread and couldn't seem to find one. I've been on the edge of getting the 500's and then a quick search turns up the 680's so I'm curious of the sound differences between the two since the 680's are more expensive.

Not exactly. But I do know that BenF likes them way more than the 500s. But BenF thinks these 'phones are the second coming of Jesus Christ and I wouldn't be too surprised if he'd tell you that they're better than the Stax SR-009, Sennheiser Orpheus, LCD-3, etc.
