I was also thinking that .....but it just seems that the EPH-100's are discounted so much, whereas the Re-400 at still at ~$100, their normal price (at least I couldn't find a lower price), it seems like the Yamaha's are the better value...I haven't actually heard either, so all I can go by are the great reviews for each.... but head to head, I wish I knew.

I can see the argument that the RE400 is still full price where as the EPH100 was $150 so the EPH100 may be the better deal but some people might hate the sound.
According to reviews, they both have completely different sounds. If you want good strong bass that goes down low and laid back treble, the EPH100 is your choice. If you want flat, reference type sound, then the RE400 is it.
