It is unclear, if settings are saved onto the dongle itself, or if it will revert to default settings without the settings-app running in the background.

Some additional information I gathered with my own DC04 Pro:

• The golden Hi-Res logo is (fortunately) only a sticker and can easily be removed.
• No microphone-support under Windows 10, so likely no microphone-support under Android and iOS as well.
• With my DC04 Pro, USB-C-to-USB-C cable, as well as USB-C-to-Lightning cable, were both included. (But your mileage may vary.)
• Hardware Volume Buttons are independent from host (100 volume steps), as well as decoupled (host volume can still be changed).
• Default Filter is Linear Phase, Sharp Roll-Off.

[Edit] Default settings are:
Digital Filter 1 (Linear Phase, Fast Roll-Off), Gain High, Output Turbo, Eco Mode Off.
If you change settings via the app, only volume and L/R balance seem to be saved onto the device.

I'm kind of late to the DC03 Pro party, but I have to say it's astonishing considering it's under $60. There is no background noise and no interference from any device I've plugged it into, even laptops that usually mess with other devices.

Surprisingly, the DC04 Pro on NOS mode sounds better than the RU6 on my IEMs. Plus there's no need to warm them up. Lol.

I had a weird problem with my dc04 pro today. It had been working fine, but today I took it with me on a train, and almost immediately it cut out. No more sound. I've had hours of trying stuff on the train. Nothing worked. Sometimes it would play for a short while, then cut out again. It looks like it is playing on the screen but no sound. Led sometimes green, like it is playing pcm, sometimes red for nothing is playing. Double notifications when plugging in the cable to allow access to usb audioplayer pro and iBasso UAC. A screen tile and a bar at the bottom. My ears got blasted a few times at max volume too.... It was unusable. Once home it behaves perfectly again, no matter if it is on Wifi or G4. So what the hell? Is it the damn train interfering with my USB? Because while waiting on a platform I had a few songs playing perfectly well, but once in the train. Same problem. It also didn't matter what kind of train. Both electrified or diesel. Same problem (even different train companies). Something is messing with my phone or dac. Anybody else experienced this?

Might be a problem with the usb port. I've seen some people have this issue in Facebook audio groups.

Not a physical problem. Some kind of interference. When I switched headphones it went away for a while. But just a while.

USb-connection clicks in solidly. I does not disonnect. Even though no sound is playing I can still control the iBasso UAC control app. Also there is no problem with it here at home even when I walk around with it or wiggle the cable. There is a natural wiggle in any usb-c connection.

I am new here! After hours and hours of reviews I decided I should get the iBasso DC04 PRO to use with my Sennheiser 660 S2!
I am an iPhone/iPad/Macbook user and I soon found out the iBasso UAC control app doesn't work on iPhones.
Can any of you owners confirm if options set with an android phone or pc are saved inside the unit so that it works with the same options when connected to another device like iPhone/iPad or does it reset to defaults and what are the default options? (filter, gain, etc)

How is the pairing with 660S2? Is it really able to power it?
