I just got a new HD800 recently, and have been searching for the ultimate amp. Sounds like this may be The One.

Gonna do a bit more research on this but it looks like this will be where my amp money will go

The challenge is finding table space for it

Just build a new table. I guarantee it will be finished before the amp

Just to keep peeps informed, since it feels like we're all a family now waiting together - If the GS-X is assembled in a similar process to the BHSE, all that's remaining now is (from the BHSE thread for those who don't follow it):

Quote:

laser engrave the front panels
mount the components onto the front panels (jacks which are already wired, front panel PCBs already assembled)
attach front, top, bottom panel to assembled amplifiers
test
test
test
ship

... hmmm, I positively like the family aspect
beerchug.gif
but since it's just the 2013 batch of GS-X that still needs to completed and tested, tested, tested ... supposedly after the 2012/13(?) batch of BHSE has been completed and then it's gonna be long way until summer for the 2014 batch will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Can I order a big bunch of patience somewhere

the raw enclosures for the 2014 batch should be here anyday. the connectors and PSU cables have already been wired. that leaves assembling more circuit boards (always an easy part) and the front panels. For the front panels i am waiting on evaluation of 2 new types of aluminum before i know what direction i can go on that. should be about 2-3 weeks till i know. then up to 8 weeks to get the aluminum, 8 weeks for machining, 6 weeks for finishing/laser engraving = 24-25 weeks.

What a slow process. You'd think you could get a batch of aluminum and machine it in less than 16 weeks (3 1/2 months).

i could have aluminum in 3 days, machine it, get it polished and anodized, find out it looks like crap, and be out $10k, and have to start over after 3-4 months into it. for years that's what i did and i never had issues. its only in the past 1-2 years the quality has become a major problem
