I got the X5 because there is no other bass headphone on the SZ level so i upped my source and the SZ scale very well. I made a few purchases and failed to get here on the first shot .... but it is an endless search for many so I am lucky.

Is there a good Android EQ alternative to Viper4Android?  I can't root my phone, it's work-issued.  I currently have Bass Booster by Desaxed studios, but this is how it makes me feel:
 

 
The bass boost doesn't seem to affect the really low frequencies, and the lowest slider is only 100hz.

Yeah I had viper 4 android on my HTC I traded in last month I can't root my note 4 yet so I have been using the bbe sonic max app in the app store it gives great impact an customizable bass options. This forum very own recommended cowon player uses bbe also so u can expect great results.

I'm wondering if I dare use high gain on my new Magni 2U. Just low gain really makes the JVC 2000s thump. Night and day from unamped. If anyone is on the fence about bass just get the JVC 2000s and a good amp and youll head will be rattlin.
 
 
EDIT: High Gain all the way up makes me cringe in a good way...I can tell my inner ear hates me when I do that but it's a visceral feeling!

I ordered a pair of those as well.  It was more of an impulse buy since I have the Alpha pads and love them.  They are still in the mail so I am not sure about the quality.

do me a favor bro, when you get them in the mail please tell me what you think about the quality. I have no idea, maybe im wrong, maybe they are suppose to be like this, but my first impression is that the material and feel is very cheap.. totally reeks of replica or knockoff to me.
 
about the alpha pads, are those the next best pads to be used with the sz2000s? i need to buy a backup now just to be sure

Dude you have the magni!? I've been really wondering how the sz2ks are with a magni. How is it? How does it compare with an E12 or E11? Is the bass with a magni really rattling enough?
