Get a haircut!!!

Seriously, each end every time I start thinking about how my setup could be improved by getting new gear (which happens every month or so (maybe every 2 months)0, I get a haircut and suddenly everything sounds better, no more veil, no more smearing, everything is suddenly clearer.

Other people in the same situation?

i know what you mean. my hair grows pretty quick and personally can't stand long hair. i think it's cause how the hair manages to cover your ears and how the frequencies reflect around your head that causes a difference. headphone wise it can be because how the headphone snugs on your head. lot of my headphones currently snug nice and tight but i plan on getting a hair cut sometime today cause i can't stand my hair at it's current state and my headphones will probably feel really loose and the clamping can affect the seal of the cups to your ears.

lot of things can affect the way you hear. even your mood and tempature of the room can cause an affect in frequency response and way you perceive sound.
