How does it compare to x1 lg g5 lg v10 and zte axon 7?
I have installed the latest firmware to my Fiio X3II, but I'm running into an issue. Whenever I plug it into my computer, the DAC screen flashes for a part of a second, then it immediately returns to the home menu. Due to this, I have been unable to install the drivers needed to run the device. Whenever I try to istall the drivers, I get this error message:
"Setup requires that the device is plugged in. Please connect the device you want to install and make sure it is turned on. If your device is currently connected, please unplug and replug it."
I am running it in USB mode, I have disabled Driver verification, and I am plugged into a motherboard USB port. I have tried a lot of little things, but I have yet to come to a solution.
It does work in Storage mode, so I can put music on it and listen to it.
Help me, please!!!

1 I'm using Windows 10
2 I did download the right DAC driver
3 I can try later, though there's nothing wrong with the one I'm using. It did storage mode perfectly fine.
I got a new laptop recently, and just did a clean Win 10 install a couple of weeks ago. I did have to disable driver signing - which also involved disabling secure boot too - in order to get the Fiio driver to install properly, even though Windows did see it as a signed driver. For what ever reason when I check the device manager it showed a installation error because it couldn't verify the signature. This was all post anniversary update, so I'll assume something MS did broke the system since I had things install properly before I tried doing the OS reinstall (teaches me for not leaving things alone)
Nvm, the issue has been resolved

Is it still worth it to get the X3 for $160? Seems like with the final update to 2.0, there might be a new one around the corner that they want to focus their resources on.
Makes me wonder if perhaps an old driver was being installed instead? Never had to go through that rigamarole with the latest driver the one time I tried it out.
After trying out 2.0 with the signed drivers I reverted back to 1.4 and went through the signing drill with the DAC driver. Then I ripped the DAC driver out of the PC. Moved the X3 to car duties (as a player and DAC for the iphone). The Shanling M2 became the PC DAC.
