I've got a question for you guys - I'm pulling the trigger on the X1 today, and I'm trying to decide on a memory card to go with it. Would a class 6 24MB/s card be sufficient to use? I can get a Samsung brand class 6 card for $12, or a Samsung class 10 for $16.

I read that a higher class SD card can reduce the 'lag' between each songs.
I just went to a local electronic store and bought a 64gb class10 SD card lmao

Thanks for the input, I think I'll play it safe then and get a class 10. Found a PNY 64GB class 10 for $23.23 with free shipping.

I have a theory about the equalizers in the X3 and X1. When the equalizer is on in the X3, the volume reduces. When the equalizer is on in the X1, the volume doesn't reduce. I also notice that the sound of the X1 is similar to the X3, when the X3's equalizer is on, with the custom setting being "flat". Is it possible that the X1's "EQ off" setting actually secretly has the EQ on, with a flat setting?

Unfortunately, there's something about the Equalizer in the X3 and the overall sound of the X1 that tires me during long term listening. I can listen for hours to the X3 with the Equalizer set to "off". I'm just trying to figure out what's going on.

I've noticed when I use the equalizer on the X1 that the volume level does not go beyond 88 out of 100. I am still on FW 1.1, do the later versions fix it?

I would recommend a 64 gb card for about or under $30. especially if you will be using lossless hi res files, they can fill up fast

Completely agree. I've filled about 3/4 of my 64GB card, with only about 2000 songs, in WMA Lossless (basically FLAC).

Nope, I don't believe the later versions 'fix' it. This is done on purpose to avoid clipping/distortion at higher volumes.

Friendly advice, you probably shouldn't be listening at such high volumes otherwise you risk damaging your hearing. Though if you find your gear requires the volume to be that high just to be at a comfortable listening level, you should consider getting an amplifier.

Thanks for the post, should of mentioned that I am half deaf, what you hear in stereo I hear in mono. So I do like to have the volume up high. I use my PSB M4U as my main cans which make the sound from the X1 and X5 sound for me, amazing. I am still looking for another DAP that plays it loud and would love some input
Thanks
