I can do so too, and I have some various power supplies to test from. And I can easily hook them up to try out.
But no need for me to brag about it!

I was just saying that I've already sunk my money into some regular ones that I'd try before I went and spent any more money. Heck, he might have one laying around for a hard drive enclosure or something.

I've tried it  santacruise, and it was absolutely mind blowing. (with an audio research CD6 or 9)
Compared to the audioquest nighthawk and the Audeze EL-8 for example, I find them waaay better
When listening to these two headphones I was like "Well, they sound good, they do not really have flaws" but they're lacking something, something that the SRS-2170.
Maybe it was a question about sources, but I don't think so.

Oh and I have just seen that the SR-L500 and L700 exists, i'm living in a cavern I think ^^
What are they worth?

I just got back from a mini-meet. I brought along the SRS-2170+EP-507 with the LH Labs Pulse X Infinity DAC. One of the folks there was really impressed with the SRS-2170 considering he didn't care too much for the SR-007 nor SR-009 on the Blue Hawaii (honestly I don't really care for those either....maybe we're heretics for saying that? everyone else seems to love those combos like it's the best thing since sliced bread). The SRS-2170 was more engaging to him and he felt more connected with the music. The bass was also surprising for him to hear because he thought those were problem areas with the SR-009.

Indeed on Innerfidelity's measurements of my SR-207 versus the SR-009, the bass frequency response and 30 Hz square wave appear to be a little better on the SR-207.

Have you ever tried the 009s or 007s?

They'll sound damn good and might even impress you on first listen.
But be aware, it comes with the amp and you need a way to connect it to your computer.
Basically, a dedicated DAC is the answer if your motherboard doesn't have RCA output.
Also, you might feel funny when wearing them for the first time.

That is all I wanted to now!!

Yeah I read about the DAC ,3.5 mm mini-jack to RCA cable and wall wart ,step-down transformer etc
but first I need to get the earspeaker and then I'll go from there =P
