The DC04-PRO with big sisters...
As someone with the LG V20/30/50s: How do you rate the overall upgrade in sound of the DC04-PRO/RU6/RU7 in comparison to the LGs?

The comparison simply doesn't exist...the DC04PRO is superior in every aspect and by a good margin.

Hey @Polky74 do you use desktop DACs? Curious if you know of any that's similar to the RU6 or M15 (similar price range too) since you're so familiar with the sounds of these DACs.

Asking because all my DACs (except for the Qudelix K5) are experiencing stuttering when listening to music on an M1 Pro MacBook Pro. Could be related to the USB interfaces so I'm looking for other DAC with more input options.

I don't use other dacs except dongles and in any case I use a windows pc... but before looking for other dacs, you could try to connect a good powered usb hub and connect the dacs there... it could be related to insufficient current.

Appreciate your time! I hear you, I always used dongles too.

It's a known problem with the M1 and external DACs :frowning2: Already got it connected to a hub, tried it direct to the laptop, etc. I'm out of options so I'm considering desktop DACs.

If you like dongles (I agree) buy one like this and dedicate it all to the music. It costs little money ($200) and is super compatible with everything. You also put a 512gb microsd and you're fine.

Cayin iHA-6: The ideal companion for our dongle

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since that distant 2016 when Cayin launched, almost silently, the iDAC-6 and iHA-6 pairing, one seemed the ideal companion for the other, but time has done what it wanted done from the beginning, consider them complementary but not necessarily and inextricably linked. The iHA-6 is still very current due to its size, value for money, general performance and versatility. I can't comment on the DAC because I've never listened to it. Thanks to the halving of the list price, the iHA-6 which already in 2016 was considered by many to be a best buy, is even more so today. Small but very heavy, very powerful, extremely refined with its double type of amplification which is a spectacle in itself and above all with a practically transparent sound. I use it with all the dongles I own (iBasso DC04PRO-L&P W1/W4-Questyle M15-CayinRU6/RU7) and thanks to it I can finally enjoy my beloved Sennheiser HD800S to their maximum potential. Its best feature (besides the power to drive anything) is that it is simply transparent and that doesn't mean being aseptic, sterile or soulless as you might think but rather it welcomes the sound of the DAC it is amplifying and makes it the " its sound" (what every amplifier should do in my opinion, but almost no one does) allowing the listener to grasp all the nuances and differences of the dac/dongle to which it is connected, even the most hidden and apparently insignificant ones. The sweetness of the RU6, the musicality of the RU7, the precision of the DC04PRO, the power of the M15, the analytical nature of the W1/W4... everything will be revealed without possible misunderstandings. The HD800S, which if not driven well seem too bright and with very timid bass, become floorstanding speakers as sharp as razors but as musical as real wooden speakers, and it is not just a question of quantity of current but above all of intensity, cleanliness, fullness and quality to work the miracle. For lovers of planar headphones there is the current amplification mode which makes them shine even more, removing the typical veil that inadequate amplifications add to that type of headphones. In a word the iHA-6 is a stratospheric amplifier! When things are done well they are ageless and he is like that, he is ageless, also because he makes the new super-dongles sound wonderful, very far from his time but close to ours. For 600/700 euros you cannot buy any amplifier that can come close to it and most likely even by spending much more, perhaps with four times its cost we are almost there.

P.S. I always recommend everything in balance, it deserves it.

DC04PRO: the Swiss Army Knife
This dongle has recently arrived to me, not at all expensive and very small and light... but contrary to what one might think by seeing it and having it in hand, it has very little smallness, indeed. I start from the sound, which is quite different from what you would expect from such a compact and "cheap" dongle, in fact the sound it has is extremely refined, powerful and incredibly three-dimensional. The bass, in addition to going down a lot, has an unexpected punch and a very high definition, the voices are very much in the foreground with high-level textures and the highs are never tiring while maintaining a very good extension. It is a dongle that I can define as "4 seasons" very enjoyable with any type of music and iem (practically the opposite of the RU6) with a power that pilots even important loads with ease. Last night listening to Madonna's album Music I was amazed at how it behaved sonically...everything was in motion...the sound moved in every direction becoming now full now empty, concave and convex, it sounded like i wasn't listening to music but i felt like i was using a virtual reality headset, it was just great. There's no bass sloshing, no treble harshness, no over-definition to distract you from the music but it's not without it either... everything is measured... everything is thought out down to the smallest detail details to make you feel the emotions that you "must" feel at that moment. In addition to this, I must say that for bone conduction lovers of the Unique Melody line it is perhaps the only dongle that highlights it so strongly. The cohesion, the precision, the details, the depth, the musicality... everything is helped by the UM bone conduction which with the DC04PRO rises to a higher level among all the dongles/dacs I own. If you love going out with a smartphone and a donlge and you want to take a bit of everything on your walk, the DC04PRO is the right dongle for you, also thanks to the excellent app designed by iBasso (Ibasso UAC) which will make your dongle the only what you really need to listen to music at excellent levels without worries. The DC04PRO is an all-rounder that will let you do it all.

I luv my DC04-Pro

I love amplifying dongles too! What a sound. I actually discovered something even better. I decided to use my Fiio Q3 as my desktop dac and connect my amp chain to it. I can power the entire Fiio Q3 with one USB-C cable. I gained a sudden drastical increase in clarity and resolution over connecting my RU6 to an amp.

Thanks for this comparison. I'm in the market for a new dongle DAC/Amp and this was helpful to read. Was leaning towards the M15 already, I think that's the way I'll go initially and see how that plays out (no pun intended!).

I luv my DC04-Pro
Nice!! I was thinking the same so as to feed my Heed CanAmp from my Go Link.

Do you know if I use a Jack to RCA splitter/adapter will it work? Gonna have any issues?

I was thinking of these options:

Audioquest adapter
or
Amazon cheap adapter

Does it make any difference the price here?
I have these rca cables Atlas Integra that I used to connect to my old Dac->Amp

Thanks for all!
