The newest additions to my collection are finally here.
Both are completely different in signature and welcome additions to my collection. Haven't had much time with either of them yet as the Sands came on Saturday & the Neon Pro came today. Hell, I'm putting the first hour on the Neon Pro as I write this. But I'll give some observations I've had so far.
Tansio Mirai Sands
Two things stood out immediately, I can hear every minute detail & man these are shouty at times. I've been trying to reduce the shout a bit but with limited succes so far, the BlackCat cable seems to help a little. That & it looks good on it too. I knew beforehand that it would be a bright IEM, which I don't mind as a treble head, but this was even more than I expected. Definitely not a IEM I'd advice getting on a whim. It's a specialist IEM which means that it comes with inherent trade-offs & the treble here is too much for most people.
It dislikes anything rock or metal, poorly recorded or anything with generally more treble in it. But on those songs where it isn't shouty, they are enjoyable & the detail retrieval is just unreal. This thing is like a electron microscope at times & that's also the reason I'm not writing these off as a loss just yet. There is definitely something there & now it's just a job of trying to bring the shout down to a acceptable level to make it truly shine. Got some tips & a cable coming (no, not the Renata), which hopefully will help with that. At least there is always EQ if nothing else helps.
Annoyingly my stock cable has a small fault in the isolation resulting in exposed wires near the Y split. It's a really small hole as I need to use my nails to get into it & while there is no real danger of a shock (low voltage and low amperage), there is a higher chance of corrosion because of it. Might use a little drop of glue to fill it up.
AüR Audio Neon Pro
These are big, both in size and sound. They are the absolute limit of what I can fit into my ears, yet they are surprisingly comfortable. My KBear Aurora is like that as well.
I can't say much on the sound just yet other than these sound big, energetic, detailed & I like it so far. But judging from how popular the Neon Pro has become, I don't think I need to say much on them as I'm pretty sure everything that I would say has already been said by others. I probably still will though.
