If KZ sold cookies, they would sell the same cookie under 20 names and make bogus claims about using pure vanilla from Madagascar when it's fake vanilla extract vanillin

KZ is adverse to using exotic material,
but they might try to cram 50 chocolate chips in one cookie, it would me more of chocolate chips with a little cookie dough to bind them together
KZ's shady business practices reminds me a lot of food fraud now that I think about it
Either food manufacturers mislabeling products or making bogus health benefit claims like saying a soft drink is good for health because it has 10 added vitamins or some BS.
As a follow up to the Kiwi Ears Melody: after spending a few days with them exclusively, I found they are super ear tip sensitive. With the wrong tip, they are overly bass heavy as reported. With heavily processed music, they are overwhelming and lack control. I was primarily listening to acoustic jazz with the stock smaller bore tips and didn’t initially experience this. Once I switched to heavily processed bass-heavy music tracks, they were overwhelming and bloated. Also, as reported, the upper region was a bit tizzy/splashy, particularly noticeable on cymbals as cited. I didn’t notice any of this until I switched to wide bore tips. They come with wide bores as an option for good reason but due to their short nozzles and my large ears, my wide bores sealed better. I had to go through my entire collection of wide bore to find the ones that not only sealed but addressed these issues. Took a day to find the right ones but once I found them - Whoomp! - they balanced out. Tizz gone, bass reeled in and controlled and what I initially liked about them was reaffirmed.
I will continue to reach for them for acoustic jazz and with the improved synergy, I now have no reservations using them across the board. For the price, they are a solid value. Happy with the purchase and thanks to the posted impressions. The best if Head-Fi.
I have tweaked all of my IEMs after listening to them to get a handle on what they need. I start with foams which seal well then graduate to silicone to find the best. I would have never thought tips would make such a huge difference. I was of the impression that if they sealed, that was the only dimension that was required. Wrong. I have a veritable plethora of ear tips to get the best out of my collection. Listen and tweak. Ah, the fun of this hobby.
