They have a 100 USD instant rebate on headphones over 399 and 50 on those over 249, does that apply to those hifiman headphones?

Nope, not for special sales.

Seems also quality issues. Many said the pads are glued:

It appears that the new owner of the Philips headphone brand, Gibson, made an inline change to gluing the pads (and removing replaceable pads as a feature from their advertising).  Not sure if that is  a defect or just a bad decision.  The set I received looked nice, the pads were glued and stiffer than I would have thought, but I have not seen the originals to compare.

There is talk that the sound has changed.  I have not heard the originals, but the sound though pleasing, had a significant bass bump that is a bit much for me, so because of that and the glued pads back they go.

I had expected that the X2s would sound like a slightly warmer SHP9500 with better build quality. They do not sound at all alike to me, the difference in bass quantity is pretty major.   I am much happier with the 9500s and think that even at the closeout $90 (and probably rising) price they are a great bargain for those who like a flat tonal balance.

I have 2 sets of X2s, bought during the Gold Box deal, and neither is glued. Must be entirely random.

Aren't they about $30 less usually?

Edit: odd...usually closeout means cheaper but the headphone seems to have gained ttraction in popularity.

Nah, lowest was around $45, several times with $0.99 shipping and I think even once with FS.

Is anyone experiencing buyer's remorse over biting on that Beyerdynamic T70 deal a few weeks back? If so, PM me, as I may be interested in purchasing them.

That's a bit sad to see.

That said, I kinda expected this sort of reaction with the 880 as well considering the Beyer sound is more of a niche nowadays.

Here we go again, lazy worker don't check what people return back to the store.

That's true. Two years ago when I ordered a set of Fidelio S2 I received an empty box. It do have the eartips but the IEM is gone. So either when the previous person return it he did not return the earphone or it get stolen somewhere in the shipping. Luckily Amazon trusted me and sent me another sealed S2.
And this is the lesson. When you order some electronics, make sure the one you received is sealed.

Has anyone ever bought from this online store? It is reliable? It seems a pretty good deal on Westone.

You can find cheaper on the FS forums, but I wonder if Sonic can answer that himself.
