IMO it would be nice if Beyer updated the Dt880 and got rid of the treble spikes, made it fully open instead of "semi-open", and a detachable cable. That would be THE perfect headphone.

I'm pretty sure he said, "treble spikes" and not "treble spikes above the midrange and bass".
Now that I think about it... they do. It's called the HD600. Yuck. ;P

:D

E: Hmmm. And maybe Q701 but the bass is dry. Double yuck ;P

Will IMHO the TEAC is better than my Audioengine D1 I paired the TEAC with my LD 1+ and  Q7X1.With the Audioengine D1 sounds like the Bass is bloated and the treble i would say they are not far off and on the TEAC it sounds like the Bass is  lower/tighter than the D1 and the treble i would say the TEAC is a bit smoother and definitely the soundstage is larger than the D1.Now i need to wait until i get my LD MK III it's on it's way back home  and also i'am still waiting for the CRACK to pair it with the TEAC and DT880 600ohms..

Silly question but I been enjoying my dt 880s but prefer more isolation. I don't want to buy a new headphones(DT 770). What is the ideal material that costs under $20 to put behind the drivers/etc to get better isolation? Thanks

You might get better isolation but that will change the sound.

You are probably end up changing the 880's sound for better or worst,Similar to removing some materials inside the cup or around the Drivers.I've tried this with my other HP and sound changed significantly.Good Luck!
