Just picked up a new self-titled release by The Band Of Heathens. They are a Texas band (maybe part of the Austin scene?) and sound really good if you are in to that kind of sound. They are along the lines of the Old 97's (but not quite as pop) or more like Hayes Carll I suppose. Certain songs have a likeness to Little Feat at times, probably due to the steel guitar and vocal style. There's a bit of mandolin, dobro, and good harmonies. Worth checking out if you like the Austin style.
