The Audio Technica W3000ANV Thread

The 3000anv sounds incredible using my Decware CSP2 with specially selected Bugle Boys 6DJ8. I seem to be listening more and more to these headphones even surpassing the hours I spend with my HD800. I find the isolation excellent also. I am also not seeing the 1K deals anymore so I am assuming most of the 2000 pairs are now sold

Well ATH is all the cans I have..:p I wouldn't mind getting their amp except the HA5k is so expensive for a 220v. Unfortunately people seem to say there is no ATH amp that will make both W5k and W3k sound good together...? If that is the case I'll just get a massive high current output amp that sounds smooth.

That sounds like a much better idea.

I heard the W5k again last weekend and I didn't dislike it as much as my first run in 2 years ago. It was very spacious, almost stretching the stage. Again, the resonance was my main criticism of the headphone.

Resonance? I don't think I understood what you hear in the W5000 :\ Can you explain more?

Odd...it didn't seem to affect me. Though I did feel that the W5k had pretty bad instrument separation compared to W3k

Squeeze the top bar together with your hands a bit, they're quite strong and won't break. Though if you have a small head, the top bit of the headphone won't touch your face and you'll get terrible bass response. I sorta think that the ATH phones are always designed for people with fat face.....

Does any one know of a reputable US based vendor that is still selling these?  Besides that one vendor on Amazon who has had only 1 in stock for the last several weeks.
