The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)

I have not had the chance to try the WA6SE. I have no doubts that there are a lot of tube amplifiers that can drive the LCDs with authority, I just know my Lyr didn't do it for me. It could've been purely tube choice on the tube amplifiers I've tried it with as well, I don't know. I just know in the context of the Lyr specifically, I'd rather spend the money I'd had spent on high end tubes and upgrade straight to a solid state model.

I have a new amplifier coming in tomorrow though, so we'll see how that goes. It's a hybrid amp as well, in a completely different class though.
Sorry for asking? How's your new amp for the LCD2. Does it work fantastic, hope your not disappointed.

just add an impedance adapter to the current ones

Where can one buy such a thing? Might be fun to try on certain amps.

Congrats.  Feed them plenty of power and good music, and experience bliss.

Only problem with LCD2r2 is it leads directly to LCD3!

Not necessarily for those of us that have heard or owned both and are still on the LCD2's - there's a good reason for that.

Of course that is true. I could easily see keeping the 2s if one is really into extreme metal and hard rock. Cranked up it is hard to beat those cans for that. For me though it was necessary to migrate to the 3s since I listen to a lot of genres and wanted improved soundstage and detailing etc. It's all good.
