I just discovered this awesome site, which tests your hearing and provides a series of different training exercises such as frequency ranges, gain, dynamics, distortion, etc. It is excellent training for anyone who is serious about audio and want to develop their ears more: https://www.soundgym.co/

I'll have to try. I like how they reduce the mastering process to hearing abilities in the video. creativity is for losers I always knew it!!!

Haha, I think they were just trying to address the basics of required level of listening skills. Everyone involved in audio knows that mixing/mastering is as much art as it is science, and those guys are no dummies.

I have been using the Harman software of late, as my ability to pick out frequency bands in the midrange is getting really rusty. It's Windows/Mac only, but is a free download:

It can be surprisingly challenging, as it ramps the skill levels up!
