sorry, I had a threat for sub 100 but ended up moving up my budget and since everyone here likes to give recommendations for anyone that wants to spend more, i made another thread. I listen to rock, rap, hip-hop and anything but country. I want cans, not canalphones since I already have a pair of Shure e3c's. I was looking at the HD595, A900, and someone else recommended to me on another thread the AKG K271S. I was wondering how these sound and what other headphones are in that price range. Thanks

would that really do for rap and hip hop? id say do a combo of K240S with PA2 amp. but ive never tried these, the reviews say it all.

Grado/Alessandro. If you don't mind the sound leakage, initial ear pain, and retro style look that is. The sr-225 w/ flats or secondhand sr-325i/MS2i are good candidates if you wanna blow all your dough.

I would try the Grado/Alessandro but comfort is very important. I can't take headphones that aren't comfortable. The 580's do look good but I'm looking for sound quality for the genres or music I listen to. I've heard grado/alessandro are good for this but I also want comfort. Are the AKG's or Audio Technica's sound in between the senns and grados???

Grados, for most people, become bearable after a little while. Getting sennheiser HD414 pads makes em pretty comfy, but changes the sound for better or worse. Still, you get accustomed to all the other pads, sooner or later . . . save few.

. . dt770 perhaps? Never heard it myself, but the heavy bass it supposedly has may be good for rap/hip-hop . . .
