I ask this, because I recently purchased this CD and I am somewhat dumbfounded by the tonal balance of the recording!
There appears to be virtually no bass and little presence to the sound,
but plenty of treble...

This balance does not do much for my musical enjoyment of this CD, which
is a shame as the music seems nice.

I would love a second opinion!
Put another way, mp3 encoding does not disguise this odd tonal balance.......

Haven't heard this recording in a long time and do not remembering it being odd sounding.

Love Rose McDowell though. Yum

Perhaps is the compilation production and not the original recording ?

I also have this CD and yes, there's an awful lot of treble. Shockingly, I also have the original album on vinyl. The balance on vinyl is only marginally better than that of the CD so I would assume that's how it was recorded.

Oh well, I guess I will have to have a go at rebalancing the sound when producing a copy.
I hate it when I look forward to obtaining a recording with all the anticipation of fresh sonic pleasures, only to have that sinking feeling when faced with a lack luster sound.

Thanks for confirming my fears....
