For the Stax experts, I'm wondering what would be the best type of solid state amp to drive a transformer (most likely a WEE). Since not a lot of wattage is required, I was thinking that a pure Class A, zero negative feedback MOSFET design like a 30 watt Pass Aleph would work well. Should I be looking at more traditional 150 watt A/B amps instead?

Class A is always the way to go, Class AB is just a compromise to try and have sound almost as good but with less heat at higher power levels.  The Pass designs are quite good, whether they have feedback or not.  Don't buy into the whole non-NFB campaign since it is mostly just BS.
