Hi, I just spotted a pair of Stax SR-40 headphones with SRD-4 adapter used for $100. I really want to buy them for a bunch of reasons, but one speaker plays quite than the other, apparently 15-20% lower. I'm told that can be adjusted for via amplifier balance.
- Anyone familiar with these headphones enough to say whether that's realistic?
- If I wanted to repair or replace one speaker is that reasonable with intermediate electronics experience?
- Any idea of the value of a $100 pair of Stax headphones with a potentially faulty speaker?
