Hi all I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread about how to change pads on the STAX SR007 and what pads will fit and how they sound and feel

I swapped pads myself today and took some pictures. I put on some Brainwavz XL micro suede pads. They feel great and sound good. I find that flat pads seal better on my head with the 007.

I put the spring ring into the pads lip, then attached the ring into the hole in the middle of the driver, then managed to get the pad lip into the narrow gap it is supposed to be in. The gap is not very deep and the opening kept readjusting itself because the way it's constructed.
It was a real pain to get the lips from the pads into the gap. You need some finger nails and patience. However once you get the first inch into the gap you are almost there
