Hi forum members,

I need to get an extension cord for my Stax SR-404's. I would like to go with the 5 meter cable rather than the 2.5 meter. There are two 5 meter cables available from Audiocubes. One is the old style, "round" type, and the other is the more modern flat cable. I was wondering if any of you Stax users had experience with these cables? One is $50.00 more than the other and I would like to know if you guys think that it is worth it.

Thanks!!!

ordered my cable from audiocubes too. You need the flat cable for the 4040 system - uses the new pro outputs on the amp

The difference is the wire itself. Both are Pro level, the 750 and the 15N. I've been using the 15N for almost a decade now.

The 15N uses Large Crystal OFC, while the 750 uses PC-OCC Ohno continuous cast OFC.

Take your choice.

Edit: Oh, I'm glad you're chosing to go with an extension cord. You have no idea how nice a Stax is, using one of these things, until you actually have one. Then you ask yourself how you got along without it.
