Starter DIY amp for HD555's?

If you want to start with a cmoy, I really recommend the BB cmoy JDS Labs, although you'll learn more doing one according to the tangentsoft directions.

I'm not keen on the idea of a A47 as a first project, there are pitfalls and it's not well documented (compared to other projects being discussed here). It's fun to experiment with after you have more experience.

I'll look into that. The main thing giving me doubts is that as I'm in the UK whatever I (attempt to) build is going to cost atleast double what it would in the US, so there's a temptation to jsut buy a prebuilt amp. No fun in that though

Would this little cmoyBB be able to drive a pair of 600 Ohm headphones and/or 250 - 300 Ohms? Would you need the 24 volt wallwart for that?

If not, anyone know a beginner-friendly DIY amp like this that can drive the 600 Ohm Beyers? (I haven't decided between the 250 and 600 Ohm version yet).

$200 how? you need more than 1 board you need atleast a 2 board for passive ground SE and o22 also thats 300, plus tranny, plus vol control, etc
