Ok Stax mafia, I'm looking at purchasing a Stax (most likely SR Lambdas) setup in the next couple of weeks/days when a good looking one pops up, and I was wondering if there is a large difference between the 2 aforementioned amps when paired with the SR Lambdas. I only found one place that talked about both (faust3d) and all it had for the SRM-1 was specs.

The difference is quite substantial, the former is AC coupled with very hard to find parts if something were to go wrong but the latter is fully DC-coupled and much easier to service.

Had a feeling you would be the one to answer. How does the above affect SQ in both of them?

The SRM-1 Mk2 is cleaner with less character of its own.  The SRM-1 is still good but a bit on the warm side.
