A mate is always banging on about Spotify, and not having higher bit rates than 320kbit/s. I'm not an audiophile, but I struggle to believe he can tell the difference on his £30 headphones.... Are there any test results on the web that demonstrate when you can tell the difference?

I have seen this site referenced before. Note that it is just a test between Lossy and Lossless. I haven't checked the site fully but it has some other tests that may be more specific.

I had forgotten what the first clip sounded like by the time it got to the 3rd.

But I've had tinnitus since 1987 and can't tell when the 17 year locust are out from the sound it makes the other 16 years.
