I can find all the toroids I want that are single voltage on the secondaries but I am finding that, more and more, I need a dual 12 winding and also a 'strong' 5v winding.

where to find such things?

I think 1A at 7v should do; and maybe half that (500ma) on a pair of 12's for an analog rail would do.

got any tips on decent non-huming (not shielded but just mechanically well built) trafos?

Assuming AnTek Inc. doesn't have what you need, have you considered a custom wind by SumR?

sumr is going to be way too expensive for what I need. and I'm going to need an 'off the shelf' supply of them, not something I want to wait weeks for.

a dual12/single5 should be COMMON, no?
