Just wanted to see what the main differences are between the closed back HP100 and open backed HP200. Things like soundstage, bass quantity and quality, etc. There isn't a lot of info about these headphones so I wanted to start this thread for people like me that are cross shopping the two of them.

Anyone? From what I've read they both seem like great headphones for the money, so I was hoping to get a thread going with some feedback comparing the two of them. I know there is an impressions thread of the HP100/150's, but nothing on the HP100/200 comparison.

I have the HP200.  I  have never heard the HP100.  Dale has long reviews of the HP100, HP150, and HP200 at his site:
http://dalethorn.com/Headphone_Soundmagic_Hp100_Review.txt,  http://dalethorn.com/Headphone_Soundmagic_Hp150_Review.txt, and  http://dalethorn.com/Headphone_Soundmagic_Hp200_Review.txt.  It seems to me that he prefers the HP100 to the other two.  There are also some comments on this issue at headphonia, for example in the comments section of http://www.headfonia.com/soundmagics-hp100-the-late-new-discovery/.

Bump - anyone?

I'm thinking about buying HP150 or HP200 - not sure about the bass though. I'm not a basshead, but would like the amount that's seen in E10s for example..

From the comments:

"The HP100 has a classic 'flat' signature, while the HP200 is slightly bright and has a warmer bass. The 100 is closed and 200 is open."

What does "warmer" exactly mean? Fuller? More?  Less?

Meh if ZReviews says their trebles HURT and that they're just overall bright, I'll totally pass. Loving my HP 150, one of my favorite headphones, tops my HD600 in the terms of efficiency, portability, and ... in some regards sound quality.
