Soundcard upgrade for me (from vibra128 lol)

Ok



I just bought me the A700s. My previous set were the koss ksc50s and before that, sony mdr280s. I didn't really notice the static backround on the other two (since one was fully open, the other was semi open). But now the static bg is just too much.
I hear no static when i hook them up to my lexar mp3 player (i also notice that the mp3 player has much better sound quality than my card too).

So yeah, I'm basically looking for a very cheap card (or usb card i don't really mind). That will have 0 static bg sound, decent sound quality. All I will use them for is for playing games/listening to music (moreso the latter).

Well i'm looking no more than $70 AUD (about $51 USD)
And an amp will be coming later on I suppose.

I think you mean the Hercules Fortissimo IV, which would be a good choice if you're planning to get an amp later on. I think that it will drive the headphones you have now quite well though. If you're not getting an amp, some people have reported the Live 24-bit to drive headphones nicely.
