Firstly, not sure if this the correct forum.

My question to you all is, When you listen to IEMs, the perspective is an onstage one. Does this irritate?

So compared to say a home system, left is right  and visa versa, also it's out of phase- soundstage behind you iso in front.

I wouldn't say the perspective is an "on-stage" perspective or soundstage. This depends mostly on the recording.

I don't think IEMs do anything to the phase of the material, all else being equal.

The common description used by a lot of folks is that IEM soundstage is more "in your head," compared to regular headphones. I think there are some flaws to this (again, the recording has much more of an impact to "soundstage"). Compared to headphones or even speakers on the other extreme, though, there is some truth to it IMO.
