Does anyone know which phone has better sound quality? I do not need a lot of power, as I'm using IEMS (EE Legend X). I've come across mixed information about Sony here, and very little about ROG 5. Thank you

RoG 5 has the better hardware spec wise. With its audiophile-targeting Quad ESS dac setup and larger battery.
Disclaimer. I have no idea if it will be subjectively better than the Sony. But the Sony is just using the on-board Qualcomm SoC solution for its headphone jack.

Wondering if you ever found out more info about these options as I'm looking into replacing my LG G6...Does anyone know which phone has better sound quality? Can't speak on the Sony, but my ROG Phone 5 is working pretty well as my alternate DAP from my Fiio X5 3rd gen.

Thanks for that... A few days after my post I was surprised reading the ROG 5 isn't waterproof so I took it off my shortlist. I permanently damaged my last waterproof phones (LG G6) by walking in drizzle so I want to minimize risk
