Somebody knows good over ear headphones portable and in ear headphones that works without Usb Dac?

I have Sony 1AM2 but I'm not happy with the seal or the sound, too warm..

In ears I'm considering Sennheiser IE200

So would the xperia 1 v get a thumbs up from its users? Thinking of switching from iphone 14 pro max. The only thing i might find hard to live with is the narrow screen and i do love the apple watch. But the screen and audio quality are my main wants in a phone the 14 pro max is good but the Xperia seems to take it up a notch.
Thoughts guys ?

Iphone does kinda lag behind on the screen game, heck everyone kinda stuck on 1440p and it's extended height resolution samples, latest tech there is simply 120hz and LTPO hardware lvl control of refresh rate down to 1Hz.
For sony tho, I don't think even the V have LTPO yet?
Also that screen aspect ratio, it depends on what content you watch on it for it to be an upgrade, as it's basically S23Ultra/iPhone 15Pro Max tall but with its width cut off, so really they are about as big as the Samsung and Apple on 21:9 movie, while being smaller and cut off more of the screen when you zoom in on a 16:9 YouTube videos. Handling is obviously better with the Sony as it's basically same width as the two's normal version.

Audio... Really there's a lot of great USB dongle dacs out there, they should have both more power and cleaner sound than either Sony/ LG. Why not just try that? If you want better convenience, go portable Bluetooth dac/amp ie BTR5, they can even double duty as USB dac to your laptop. Tho I would suggest to wait 6 months so more companies will be adopting Snapdragon's wifi Lossless audio transmission their S7/ S7Pro chip.... Now that I think about it, maybe it's fine now, as they will not work on an iPhone, maybe they will upgrade their next gen Airpods Pros and Max with them.

I do think the speakers on the IPhone itself is kinda just OK these days, it's not Radio speakers loud like Rog phones and doesn't face frontally like the Sony and Asus.
TLDR: there's a lot of competition for good Entertainment Phone, the one thing Sony have is really that SD card slot, its convenient for photo taking and offers you endless storage for downloading tons of movies offline from Netflix, HBO, Disney, etc

Just be aware that the Sony's camera is abit more advanced and complicated/difficult to handle than Samsung, iPhone and Pixels point and shoot....

Sony is not as good with auto and computed pics.

It's not so hard to use the Sony Camera, but more difficult than the others on the Go snaps...

It's a steep learning curve if you're used to point and shoot from IPhone.

Darko reviewed the H/O quality with comparisons.

Darko reviewed the H/O quality with comparisons.

Darko has tried almost everything that is in head fi. He is relatively rich.. At least in Head fi.. that makes him picky and spoiled compared to us "normal" people.

I also would wish that the Sony Jack was more focused on higher quality. But we never know.
I'm hoping to get the Sennheiser IE200 and that that works with the Sony Xperia 1III. And that it works with the Audioquest Black Dragonfly.

The Xperia 1iii has good quality on jack, the dragonfly black gives a bit more volume, but that is not necessary on my portable headphones.
Namely Sennheiser Cx300i and Sony 1AM2, and BW P5.

I only Wish that the IE200 had a mic and button for play, Shuffle, next, and Answer.

One thing I've noticed with Poweramp and the SD card is that when I use this with the jack and wired the volume swings up and down. I thought it first was the music, but no. It's the card. Happened with heavy boots so it was abit bouncing when walking. Suspected microfonic disturbance but when I changed to Tidal storage that is local the Noice/volume problems disappeared.

Updated the 1st post now with 1 mkVI
Upgrades are:
1) now telephoto up to 170mm (full range now 0.6-7.1x zoom.
2) Change of aspect ratio to 19.5:9
3) 30-50% more brightness depend on condition and who claims so (independent vs official)
4) Way better battery life, now its squarely 2 day battery champ. most probably due to ditching 4k to 2k and now with VRR. independently tested on gsmarena way better than most phones, like neatly 50% better than closest competitor.
5) New Driver for the front firing speaker, they also claim "upgrade" on the 3.5 but said nothing about what exactly.

Nice.
I'm a bit struggling to throw out that much money for my next smartphone.
But it is sooooo tempting. ^^

It's the only device on the market that offers all I'm looking for.
Well, there's a little bias coming from my Xperia 1 MK3.
(Eyeing to the Xperia 5 too)

Really interested in battery life and cam features, if you don't mind.
And the headphone jack, ofc. ^^

Congratulations on your beautiful phone and much joy with.

As I am having some hands on experiences with Xperia, I want to add some information here
I must admit first that I don't own the newest Xperia 1 Mark 6, but I have tried it.
Compare to my currently using Xperia is 1 Mark 3, the 3.5 performance is a truly downgrade. To me personally, Xperia 1 Mark 3 is still something as a peak. Since 1 Mark 4, it has disappointed me. I can upgrade to 1 Mark 5 at least, but nothing is so convince me about it.
I have a standalone Walkman, but sometimes I just want to bring the least things on me out on street. I do not use much of Headphones, mostly IEMs. Compare to 1 Mark 3, my most used and favourite IEMs I always bring it with me is EX1000, 1 Mark 4 & 5 & 6 is truly a downgrade
There is a minor improvements, not so clearly, but it is there, when using UAPP to listen compare to stock Sony Music app. If you have condition, can considering buy out UAPP to get that minimal improvement. Otherwise, not so neccessary.
To be honest, I truly want Sony to improve 3.5 performance on the next generation. I really love the new macro telephoto lens on 1 Mark 6, and the battery life too. But the performance of it, meh, way worse than a pass through output on Xperia 5 I used to have, don't even consider it to compare with 1 Mark 3 and 1 Mark 2, which in my personal taste, a little bit different when 1 Mark 2 is not powerful as 3 (not by much) but a little but clearer and better seperate between layers

I'm listening to jack now on my Xperia 1VI.
I'm listening to music from my microSD card..
Flacs and hirez.

I can say surely, it's better than my old Xperia 1III.
It's more power, it's more detailed.

I'm listening to Sennheiser IE200 with the memory foam buds, (it tends to be warmer than smaller buds, but luckily thats not an issue here)
IE200 is not the easiest to drive earbuds, they need some milliwatts to shine, if it's less power they don't sound very good.

It's very early to give this a review, this is only first impression other than it's a improvement over the 1iii.

But as we know it's easy to be biased when you got something new and a bit expensive.

Is it better than Dragonfly black? That I doubt, I can test later since I've got it...

I need more time, it's not easy.

I'm trying Tidal now, the sound vary from track to track, the volume also, I've got the same volume setting in Tidal.

I like the sound, the question is do I like it so much that I drag the wires out about instead of using Bluetooth headphones?

This I'm not sure of, but it's better omph than my old 1iii, and abit better sound. But I need more time.

I'm not sure of the settings either, all settings seems in look to polish the sound, like DSee and Atmos or 360.

If you listen to Tidal, I'm guessing it's best to have all off, (unless you listen to Atmos or 360 tracks) but maybe DSEE upscale flacs In cd quality?

I guess off for tidal and flacs, and on for Spotify and video/movie... But that's just me guessing.

Strange though. Audio can be subjective. It might depends on region variant too. I am in Vietnam, and there are few people with 1 Mark 6 on hands. All of them are imported from Taiwan and Japan, because Vietnam is now just in pre-order state waiting for shipping.
At least compare to 1 Mark 6 I have chance to try, it is not better than my 1 Mark 3
Of course both of them didn't beat the hell out of my Walkman 😂
Maybe in your region they are differently tuned 🤔

It also of course depends what earphones you're using. I'm just talking about Sennheiser IE200.

In this aspect it's stronger power than 1iii.

I really want to give a score but I think I need more time.

1iii I'm not sure From Bad to Very good, maybe 1iii jack is Mediocre or Mediocre-

But I'm not sure about the 1VI yet, if you need more power I'm pretty sure you need a usb or dongle jack or Walkman/portable player.
