Sony NW-ZX300

I've always had Sandisk (from Amazon) and have had great reliability - currently using the 400gb standard one
I forgot to add that from my research Samsung are a respected brand for SD cards.
As I am pushing my price range to get the maximum capacity card for my money I usually use the lower spec (speed) cards, I wonder sometimes if the the library would build faster with a faster speed card, but as it doesn't affect my listening and I don't think anyone has mentioned on here about card speeds I wouldn't worry about it - someone may have experience to say otherwise though.
Recently the prices have dropped a lot for both the 400 and 500 cards.

Yup...I just got the 1TB card and it worked on the 1Z so it should on the ZX300 too.

I am using what is possibly the slowest 128GB SD card out there. Copy speed is around 10MB only; with it 95% full, rebuild takes less than a minute. A full rebuild however took over 10 minutes.

Might be worth investing in a decent speed. I had the quickest 512GB Sandisk card I could afford, it’s half full, and a rebuild takes under 10 seconds.

I picked up one of the PNY 512 cards on prime day for $52 and change and it works well for me.

I put in a U3 (30 MBPS) card just to test - honestly, not that much different.

For transfer speed, limiting factor isn't the card, it's the DAP itself. The SD interface is slow...

Considering how rarely I transfer music, I'll happily get the savings. However, if you're considering using it for multiple devices, I recommend faster ones to take advantage of photography, etc.

How fast does the database rebuild for you guys? When rebuilding after a transfer via USB it usually takes less than 10 seconds. However after a restart or after inserting the card into the device it usually takes a minute or two, which I'm not sure if it's long or not, considering my A45 rebuilds its database much faster. I have a little over 2000 songs in my library.

41 seconds after USB.
39 seconds after boot.

13727 songs, 119GB.

Will give a full rebuild a try in a day or two - some of my playlists messed up.

I completely agree, i've got the 400gb from Sandisk and it's the standard one..
Guys, it's just music, no point in using a super fast SD card... I don't care how much the database rebuild is fast.. Even if it takes 15 seconds less it's not worth the extra cash..

Huh, mine's rather slow then. What card do you use?

Stay away from the TeamGroup cards. I bought (2) 512GB cards from Newegg and both have died after a couple of months.

I've been using the ZX300 with my Fiio FH7 for a couple weeks now, and I am finding that the ZX300 makes the FH7 sound brighter than any of my other sources (Dragonfly Red, iFi iDSD Black). I've seen many people say they think the ZX300 has a slightly warm sound, but I definitely have not found that to be the case. I've also used it with my Focal Elear and Beyer T5P.

SanDisk 128GB UHS-I. Cheapest Sandisk I could find.

When I mean get the cheapest SD card you can, I should have prefaced with "from a reputable brand". Micron, Samsung, Lexar, Sony, SanDisk, the works. Not something from Ali or eBay.
