SONY NW-ZX2

Can you help an Android newbie? What software/hardware would you need to be able to stream Tidal to the ZX2 from your home wifi?  Just the Tidal app on the ZX2?  Thanks.

Simply get the APP and pay the monthly fee. It streams all the way up their top bandwidth setting (Hi-Fi).

As for the side buttons, yes they fail to recognize input with the screen off about 10% off the time once you have the screen off for 5 minutes or thereabouts. It's a software bug.

Does anybody who has done the sound adjustment disable find that it does not stay disabled once you do a power off/on? And actually the benefits of the disable just disappear, and you cannot use any of the adjustments. So you have to reboot, then enable sound adjustments, then reboot, then do the disable again. It's a pain. Wonder how to get it to 'stick' through reboots....

Yeah it doesn't stay disabled after a turn off/reboot, but you don't have to do that first reboot you mention, basically best way is to turn on ZX2, disable sound enhancements, then remember to enable it once again before you turn it off, then next turn on you are set to either use stock mode or disable enhancements again.

Also sometimes disabling the sound enhancements doesn't work for some reason, even though you disable the app, the sound changes don't take place.

So what I usually do to make sure is, turn on ZX2, press play to check volume, then pause (also make sure volume is low), then disable sound enhancements, then press play again to witness the jump in volume. If volume didn't jump, it didn't work, the only way to try again is to enable sound enhancements, then turn off, and try again from fresh turn on.

5009295 Singapore version (made in Malaysia if that makes a diff but bet they all are made there)

BTW, the Sony has never annoyed me with a stupid "Listening at a high volume level for a long..." warning pop-up. You can crank it all the way up for as long as you like :)

Hi Steven (or anyone else encountering this), about the buggy side buttons, does that happen with the stock player or other apps?

Because if it's in the stock player, that 10% failure rate is 100% more than on the ZX1... Well, mine at least. I use them all the time and they never fail. Can't remember ever reading this was an issue for other people either.. If it is now, that's reason for concern and/or panic...

Yes, it happens to me, and actually I can not get the volume loudness anymore. I have tried restore a few times now ...

I don't think that it is expensive for the materials and RS that Sony did....for Christ sake, a Brembo brakes set is twice as much, or a BBS 18" wheel is just as expensive, or any Ray forged wheel....lol....and those are simpler to make, but expensive technology and brand

The ZX2 material is also expensive, solid alumium, film condensed capacitors, copper and gold shield, high end clocks, thick board, real leather.......etc, every details was thought throughoutly and board amplifications design was from scratch with inspiration from ZX1 and their own technology.....ZX2 price is justified! AK240 however is not...
