This is odd timing. Just yesterday I received my XB700 from B&H. I expected them to be much bassier(edit: bass with Woo Audio 3 was not controlled, is quite a bit better with SR-71A). I think they sound very good for $80. Compared to my T1, they lack mid/treble detail big time(well of course). They are very fun cans. I used my Behringer 2496 processor to tweak the bass using the PEQ and then to top that off, I used my Aphex 204 processor using the Big Bottom to enhance the bass slam around 40 Hz. Boy, these things can take some serious abuse before they beg for mercy.

I just sold my JVC DX1000, not because I didn't love them...but that's another story. So I figured the XB700 might fill the void. It did sort of. Honestly, the XB700 pales in comparison to what the DX1000 is capable of, bass-wise... but I could buy 9 pairs of XB700 for what I paid for DX1000 which aren't 9 times better.

If you want amazing, rattle-your-brain-bass while still holding it all together, sell a kidney or whatever and go for a DX1000.

Having rambled that, I'd like to try out the XB1000.

I love my 700's. I definitely need to resist the temptation of these (bigger is always better for stuff like this ha)

Interesting. I've been looking for something to carry to class (D5Ks stay locked in my room at all times) since my parents annexed my M50s. I wonder how the mids and highs are?

70mm should move 96% more air than 50mm.
