[earplug]

I recently got the Beyerdynamic velour pads for my Sony MDR-V6 headphones. I love them; they're so comfortable!
 
The velours came with two plastic pieces, which were the same size as the pads. I did not use them when I installed the velours onto the MDR-V6. Are they needed for the MDR-V6, or are those just plastic pieces for other headphone models?
 
I saw this post where the plastic pieces were used on the Audio Technica M50. It made me question whether or not I needed those plastic pieces.

Those plastic discs are part of the Beyer DT250 headphones - make it easy to change pads. Not needed for the V6.
