I am looking to get a used one for a lower price. $150 for the stock one seems a bit high but thanks for the recommendation. You can buy it directly at Sony. https://sony.encompass.com/item/12434619/Sony/1-912-774-21/
Frankly, that's a very reasonable price for such a good cable. I was thinking about an upgrade cable $500 range, but I won't spend close to the price of the IEM for its cable. However, tons of headfiers I know would, they bought $1k+ cable for Z1R.I am looking to get a used one for a lower price. $150 for the stock one seems a bit high but thanks for the recommendation.
Fair enough, the cable is high quality and matches really well with the IER Z1R, but I will wait for a bit and see if anyone wants to sell it, if not I will get it from Sony directly.Frankly, that's a very reasonable price for such a good cable. So you’re saying that I will definitely see an improvement in sound quality if I use a really expensive IEM cable? I thought IER-Z1R’s stock cable was the bestI believe cables make a difference. However, how big is the difference and how much you are willing to pay for that difference is individual decision. For me, I won't pay more than 1/3 price of the IEM, and if you can spend that much, it is better spent on another IEM
DAC, AMP, IEM, Cable and then cleaning your ears… is the order in which you’ll improve sound. Buying a cable more expensive than the source is like buying socks and thinking you’re going to run faster. So you’re saying that I will definitely see an improvement in sound quality if I use a really expensive IEM cable? You may hear a difference, but you may not necessarily hear an improvement. I personally wouldn’t recommend buying an expensive cable for IER-Z1R if you’re specifically looking for sound quality improvements. The stock cable is already good quality, and the differences to SQ are usually minor between cables IMHO. For that price, I think you’re better off buying either another IEM with a different sound signature, or investing in improving (or simply finding synergy with) another part of the chain like a new DAC, amp or DAP.If I purchase a $2800 IEM cable for my IER-Z1R like this one, will I notice improvement in sound quality in comparison to IER-Z1R’s stock cable in my audio setup [Chord Hugo 2 (using optical) + SMSL PO100 + MacBook Air (using Roon 2.0 software)]
That is a really good price. UE charges $250 for a stock balanced cable. $150 is cheaper than pretty much every brand cable that people rave about.Frankly, that's a very reasonable price for such a good cable. Probably minimal if anyWill I notice improvement in sound quality in my audio setup [Chord Hugo 2 (using optical) + SMSL PO100 + MacBook Air (using Roon 2.0 software)] if I use a M2 MacBook Air instead of a 2017 MacBook Air?
