I use one of these (D-E307CK) as my headphone source and am buying a backup.
Are the new Discmans as good or better than the old? Any old ones to avoid?
I am interested in sound quality and longevity and don't need radio or non CD-ROM formats.

For newer models I would get the D-EJ2000 or D-NE330. For older models get a D-465, D-777, or D-9.

Just a bit of warning about the D-NE330. Don't use it with IEMs, as that player is a hiss monster. The hiss was audible even over the music.
