I saw their video on this MuchMusic idie music video show (The Wedge)... and, for a 12 and 10 yr old girl duo, it's some very surprisingly good pop music (with some rough edges).

Smoosh has opened shows for Pearljam. Not a bad gig for pre-teens.

I heard that, it was okay.

Didn't realize they were underage. Didn't realize they were girls, for that matter.

Child labor laws. They probably needed their parents' permission to record an album.

Yeah, about a year ago they were playing songs off this album on our local indepent music station, KEXP. I was definitely impressed with their sound for 12-year-olds, but I didn't really consider purchasing the album. One day around that time, I walked into the local record store and their album was in the top 5 sellers of the week! I don't know how long they stayed on the "charts", but it was neat to see them get some recognition in the form of album sales.
