Hi everyone

I have two pairs of UE SuperFi 5EB and I love the mix of sound quality and sound signature (lot's of clear bass, the sound is "wide" and exciting). The biggest problem is that they are simply a little too big to wear outside. I'm currently falling back to a pair of UE MetroFi 2 that does "well" (when using my iphone's equalizer to pump a little more bass). But I'm not really in love with them, somehow their sound is just a lot less exciting (plus the 5EBs don't need the eq which is an additional plus for sound quality).

Now to my real problem: I have tried a pair of the newer "SuperFi 5" and while their sound might be "cleaner", the sound signature is so far off from what I fell in love with in the EBs that I can't really enjoy listening to them. I actually prefer the much cheaper MetroFis!

So, what other IEMs are there that fit these requirements?

- Bass should be somewhere between MetroFi 2 and SuperFi 5EB
- I want them to enjoy music (mostly metal and electronica), I'm not a sound engineer. "crystal clear linear sound reproduction" is not what I'm looking for

- Pretty much no price range.

Thanks for any tips

Bass colored+price no object= IE8.

There's a reason every bass-colored IEM gets measured against these.

Thanks for your responses! The IE8 seem to get very mixed reviews here, several have stated to clearly prefer the 5EBs over them, so it's a bit risky to buy them blindly (at that price).

The VBs seem very interesting, but it looks like they are not available through a local retailer and ordering them internationally will make the price go up very fast

Just bought the new UE 350 (shipping was almost as expensive as the earphones...) and I'm pretty impressed! Familiar UE sound signature with strong bass (no need for the crappy iPhone equalizer anymore!). The sound is not as clear as the 5EBs, but this is definitively my new choice for "cheap" on the go earphones.
