Hi folks,

I got some Shure SE215's as a Christmas gift and while I like them, there is one thing that is really
driving me nuts.  There is a really strong boost around 5khz, and it is quite annoying on most tracks. Forces me to listen at volumes much lower than what I would typically enjoy.  The only device I have that has a real EQ is my Macbook.  But I listen to a lot of other devices not all have EQ.  My question is does that 4-5k boost improve after burn in?  I have read that these shures don't change much with burn in, but I wonder if that improves a little.

FYI Up to this point I have been uses Audio-Technica M35's for my listening. My ears are used to the very smooth sound of those phones. But they just don't work well for being on the go. (great for live mixing though)

Any knowledge is appreciated.

Thanks,
Geoffrey
