I searched around the forum and internet, and couldn't find the information I needed, so I thought I had to ask here.
I own Shure SE210 for about 3 years, but the cable is ripped, so I need a new set.
Right now I'm looking at the new SE215 and SE315.

My question is that should I get SE215 or SE315 since I've owned SE210?
Would getting SE215 be a downgrade or upgrade from SE210?
If it's a downgrade, how much is SE315 better than SE210? (I assume SE315 is higher end than SE210)

I used my SE210 for listening to music on my iPhone and on-stage instrument monitoring.

Please help me to choose, is the extra $100 worth for SE315?

Thank you.

This is an interesting question. I own both the SE210 (single BA driver) and later the SE215 (Dynamic Driver) while I was expecting a significant increase in bass for the SE215 to my suprirse the two sets have very similar bass response to my ears.

I always thought dynamic driver IEMs should delivery more of the low ends compare to a single BA IEM. (unless of course the single BA is tuned twds the lower ends which isn't the case in Shure 210)

I have not tried out the SE315 myself. It would be interesting to A/B the 210 and 315 both are single BA IEMs from Shure. Can someone share their experiences?

Cheers

I think the SE215 would be a better choice. I think moving up from single BA to dual BA is a bigger sonic difference, so the 315's aren't exactly the greatest value. Moreover, I regard the 215s as a bit more fun of an earphone compared to my 535s. I wish I hadn't given my 215s to my sibling, so that I'd still be able to experience the punch of the bass.

I have never tried the SE535 myself. But thought thought the 535 has a dedicated sub for the lows. So the 535 to your has even less bass comparing to the 215?

the 535s bass is more quality than quantity, i feel that when listening to my 535 when listening to lows they sound like the bass is meant to be heard, its not over emphasized its not synthetic sounding. amped the 535 get really low in lows depending on the track.

imo there are other iems out there that are better than the ones you are looking at. imo it seems that shure saved the best sound for their top teir and i feel that is true, and i have owned the e3c,se310,se420,se535 and by far the top tier are the best in sounding.

all the lower teir iems seem to be lacking in one part or the other.
