I thought we had a rule around here to never discuss cables. :)

Even with $5k gear I cannot hear the difference with statistical significance between, itunes aac, spotify, lossless, etc.

KSE are just an amazing headphones, and you’ll equally enjoy them when listening apple music via lightning cable, $100 dac, or $2k dac with lossless.

For me personally, I can’t hear the difference in sources and dacs (with sinad > -96). But I can clearly hear the kse resolution.

To my own surprise, I heard a difference between the KSE1500's DAC and the analog outputs of my ipad and XPS 15 - its actually easier to follow complex tracks with the latter two (better detail in general), but the built-in DAC somehow sounds more "solid".

Is there by any chance anyone here who is rich enough to own all three of the following:

KSE 1200/1500
SE 846
CA Andromeda

I'd be very interested in pictures and size comparisons. Wondering how much these differ in size. Am I correct in stating the electrostatic are the smallest?

Thanks! I could be wrong but it seems the SE 846 Is smaller.
Worth a look I guess :)

At this point I am going for comfort first and not the absolute best treble is not too worrisome for me.

Thank you for your effort:)

Vs. the Andromeda, the KSE is considerably smaller. That said, I gather they would work in a similar size ear as the Andromeda sits more on the outside of the concha, while the KSE snaps to the inside. I have medium sized ears and they're both a great fit for me, but I don't know if I could go much larger.

Had SE846 for a few years and perfectly happy with them but tempted to try some KSE 1200. Is it just a reduction in sub-base with the KSE1200.

Whats the -10db for?

Will it sound good via a LG V30+

Anybody connected out of a Fiio BTR3 adapter or ES100 (LDAC mode).

The devices I connect to have variable output levels so I do not use the -10 myself.

Just try to connect KSE1500 via digital to AK1000 or 380!!!!!!!!!!! listen it approx for a week and then turn back to analog - you will never return to analog line out)))))))

......After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. (C) MATRIX

Questions guys. I've been using the 846's for many years now with a Sony WM1Z, I love the paring! I've been looking at the KSE1200 & 1500 From what I can tell the difference between the 2 is the built in digital front end correct (DAC) on the 1500 correct? If that is the case, as anyone compared the WM1Z DAC to the Shure? I'd most likely be using the WM1Z 90% of the time, just trying to decide if I want to shell out the extra $.

I know everyone has their own impressions of what sounds good. But....How do the KSE compare to the 846's? Unfortunately I'm unable to demo them, of course I can return them via online, but I'm trying to avoid that. Cheers!
