Hiim new here and was just wonderning what kind of shure headphones would be best for me. I love listening to my ipod and enjoy almost anykind of music, price is not a big factor but anything under 200 would be good. Thanks

Shure's use their own cable connection. The coiled cord isn't as long as you'd think. I use the coiled cable on both my SRH440s and SRH840s, the extra is easily pocketable and you can swap out to the Shure straight cable if coiled isn't your thing. If you want neutral sound, comfort & portability while being durable for a full can, the SRH840s are you best bet.

Well I Was just doing a quick look around and I could not find a place that had them so if I can't find one what would the 2nd best be? I heard that the 750 or 550dj were pretty good but had problems with the ear mat hardening this a major problem?

What kind of sound you looking for? The srh440 is supposed to be pretty flat with a treble tilt, and the 750dj should have bigger bass. The 550dj is kind of weird, it's leaner sounding than the srh840 and very shouty like a Grado. Fun to listen to but kind of fatiguing.

I think the Koss DJ100 has a lot of similarities with the 840s, it doesn't sound like it was made by Shure or anything but its tonality is pretty close, you could check that out too.

Shure srh840 is a great headphone. Indestructible and great sound. Very smooth and IMO fun. Oh and last they can be had for $130 nowadays.

Shure 440 for accuracy and 840 for some warmth from what I've read. I have the 940's and love them but they are over budget I think.
