Does the addition of the shure's Level Attenuator significantly alter the sound signature. If so how does the sound change and is it an improvement or degradation in quality. It seem with the addition of more resitance warranted a change in quality for the mx400 and the mx500, would a similar change be observerd witht he shures?

I guess this has already been discussed? Do any headphones improve in quality when there is more restance in the cable. Would the e3 improve if one used the etymotic s cable?
