Hello,

i wanna make a little shoutout to https://www.music-map.com and the associated gnod network ( https://www.gnod.com ), i always struggled with finding new music that fits my taste and i found music-map a few days ago and already found a few new bands (which is kinda rare for me) that fits my bill really well, you guys should try it out, i much prefer it over usual music discovery features like lastfm/spotify/qobuz

disclaimer: im not associated with any of those websites, i found it just to be a bless to discover new music!

tell me/us what you think about it :)

To use Music-Map you basicly enter a band name and you get a graph of different bands, the bands closest to the band you choose (in the middle) are most similar to it (or atleast people also prefer those the most if they like the band you choosed, i think thats how it actually works)

Sounds like something for the lazy or dim.
why you think so? how you discover new music?

atleast i found it works quite well, much better in fact than the usual discovery features, also including youtube i forgot to mention in the initial post

I find Tidals related artists and good old fashioned word of mouth work fine.
im not sure about tidals discovery but other platforms just show me "crap" of the same genre, music-map on the other hand really finds "similar" sounding artists of the same genre, atleast give it a try :p it specially also shows (for me) unknown artist i never heared about, word of mouth works but its most of the time about very big/famous artists

What's the point of this post? Truly curious.
Did it make you feel better to denigrate someone's suggestion that others, including me, might find useful or interesting?
You are only discouraging others from posting similar things by doing this.
You are new here so let me give you some advice. Keep it to yourself next time.

@Ghoostknight thanks for the suggestion. It looks pretty cool.

This seems pretty cool! Rateyourmusic also has a good recommendations system (you just need to rateyourmusic for it to generate them :p). I have a challenge to listen to at least one new album this year, I need as many tools as possible to find new music!
