Short preface is that the generally acknowledged top three aviation headsets are:
Bose A20
Lightspeed Zulu.2
Sennheiser S1
The Sennheiser is brand new. I wanted to get something that would have the best audio quality I could get. Naturally I leaned to the Sennheiser given their experience and acclaim for their headphones. I stayed away from the Bose because...well, most of you know why given my criteria.
I got my Sennheisers in and I've listened to them with the Bluetooth as well as through my home setup, which is my Vaio to a Music Hall Dac 25.2 fed to a PS Audio GCHA amp. These things just sound dead. I've tried them with and without the noise reduction. They sound like an old pair of run of the mill crappy headphones. Maybe I'm just used to much better or maybe it's a burn-in issue? I just don't see burn-in changing this. I want to be wrong so bad.
Here's my questions:
1. Have any of you had any other experience with these?
2. Do any of you have comparisons with the Lightspeed Zulus or the Bose sets?
3. Do any of you have any idea if they used the drivers from a current pair of phones?
Thank you for your help!!
