I bought one from Linsoul for IE200, and I had to strip the O rings so they could fit. It wasn't two seconds of work; it didn't go easy.
But after I did that, it worked great. It stays firmly.
I am receiving IE900 in a few days. I would consider that cable as well. It's probably not the same cable I bought. It looks similar (without O rings, though).
Linsoul

What do you think about this one?
MMCX, 4.4 mm (blue)
It costs more. Do you think it might be of better quality as well?
LINSOUL

Cheers!
No idea, sorry, I bought that cable because I knew it would be a simple plug & play operation.

Hi,

i bought some used IE900 some days ago from a trusted seller here in germany as a upgrade to my IE 800S. First impressions where good, much better textured bass and highly improoved high to my ears. No i came across omse pictures about fakes here and i´m struggling a bit. All accesories look authentical to the pictures shown here. Serial number certificate and case match. but the inside of the ie900 is not pitch black:

IE900 is etched and not printed:

And the backside:

Your opinion?
They look authentic to me. Very similar to mine which came from an authorised dealer. Inside of ie900 is the same colour as the outside, it's just dark in there...

Dont do it, had some made and they sound awful to me
Hi,

i´m also thinking about make those for my ears, cause the stock med one don´t seal perfectly sometimes. the big one´s are too big. And the foam tips change the sound signature. the same as they do on my IE800.

Can you explain a little bit? First time i saw @TomBY custom tips my fist impression where: wow they are very long, the soundstage will be changed a lot by it. the bass will profit from a perfect sealing, but the highs with such long tips?

You basically perfectely described the problems with your assumptions.

With custom tips i found the bass to be stronger though not in a way that i would describe as better. It really depends however how good your seal is with your normal tips. Main issue for me was the treble really suffers. With the custom tips the IE900 lack the refined brilliance i love them for completely. Furthermore the incredible airiness and soundstage for an iem gets compressed into average territory.

Personally i highly recommend Spiral dots for the IE900, had loads of ear tips and these are super comfy, not too sticky and gave me personally the best sound

Seems legit. The little 'bump' on the black ring always was a sign for originals.

Here are my ie900s, purchased over two years ago directly from Sennheiser, in Germany. They were made in Germany, not Ireland.

Hey everyone, just picked up my IE900 a few days ago from Amazon when I saw they were on sale for $888.00. Been using IE300 for a few years and liked them a lot. I am blown away by these IEMs. My only complaint is how slick they are, going to have to wear some surgical gloves to change the cables.

The inside of the nozzle is not black. They're the same aluminum material as the rest of the shell. I think the photos you saw were not properly lit.
The IE 900 letters/numbers and Sennheiser logo are etched.
Here are some photos I took with a Sony A7II and Sony 90mm macro lens. Hope these will ease your anxieties.
I'll be happy to send the Raw files to anyone who wants them.

My IE 900 was bought from an authorized dealer (Audio 46) on June 2021. They were made in Germany and has serial number 001xxx.

Edit: Photos didn't attach.

Check out this thread on reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/190lja0/ie900_fake_vs_genuine_in_detail_comparison/
Someone made a very good comparison between a genuine and fake IE 900. Tons of pictures. Yours looks genuine.

Some people, like me just don’t get on with silicone ear-tips of any kind, I’ve tried them all, including the ones recommended by many here on head-fi.

The included Sennheiser medium tips work ok sound-wise but slip out of my ears when walking.

I‘ve settled on Comply SmartCore tips for now my ie900 stays put 24 hours a day should I need it too so I’m happy now.

I am starting my IEM journey, planning to buy IE 900 as my first pair but the amount of different cables and eartips is very overwhelming.

Can anyone please recommend:

1. Best aftermarket cable? Best quality, most comfortable etc.
2. Best eartips? I'm aware this is different for everyone but what are the brands that most people end up liking?
3. I have no idea what dac/amp to buy so I'm just going to randomly choose the mojo 2, is this overkill or fine?

Thanks
